Your Predictions: What will happen January 6, 2005?

Will we have another 2000, when the Congressional Black Caucus represents patriotism and democracy in this country, and is told to sit down? Will we watch the brave dignity, extraordinary grace and upstanding fortitude of Maxine Waters and all the members of the CBC once again march forward and demand ALL our voices be heard -- without the support of the white men and women of the House, or the Senate?

Or will they be joined by other members of the House? Will someone in the Senate rise up and support them? And who might that be?

It's encouraging to see the grass roots mobilize, but it also shows how the Democratic party is not longer the peoples party.

24. Interesting you should mention that...because Thursday I got an email

from KE congratulating me on volunteerig to help with the campaign, effective today?! As I had NOT signed up on Thursday to work for the campaign, I thought it was interesting. It was dated in the morning, about 11:45 (about the time I think the articles began appearing about Kerry "joining the Ohio action." The email was clearly a form email sent out to others (who like me had worked the Original campaign). But the email also said to send copies of the email to 5 friends to get them involved too.

Did anyone else get this one? Or did the KE old database accidentally have a 'glitch' and generate miscellaneous grassroot motivational emails?

If it WAS intentional, the email was sufficiently "Kerry-code" in that it confirmed that I was signing up effective the day he officially re-entered the 'game.'

Anyone else receive one?

15. You're overlooking one very salient fact

That scenario played out by the Black Caucus was great street theater, but it was, realistically, never designed to change anything or incite any lawmaker to put forward a challenge.

In fact, Al Gore had asked everyone to refrain from doing anything.

Please, keep that in mind. You must appreciate the Black Caucus's gesture for what it was - a gesture.

And it looked great in F9/11, but it was a cheap shot on part of Michael Moore to leave out the role Al Gore played in that long surrender.

Kerry's not going down that easily. I still believe he's just gearing up for the battle.

18. It was more than that to me.

It was an exercise in Democracy -- and sometimes these things really need to be exercised.

F911 showed a few seconds of it. Many of us watched the whole thing unfold on CSpan. Finally, we saw SOMEbody who would at least stand up and speak for ME -- SOMEbody in DC had the guts to stand up for what's right, speak out against what's wrong, and make the point known to the world that we all knew what was going down, no matter what Al Gore or Tom Daschle or George W. Bush told them not to say or do.

Of course it wasn't going to change the election, but please don't minimize it as if it didn't matter. It DID matter.

21. It mattered in a symbolic sense, and that means it was worthless

But, as a longtime DC denizen, I'm used to seeing all sorts of things unfold down in the well. This was done for show - please be clear on that. It was done for show, and I think we've settled for far too long for things done for show. Symbolic protests, and all that, while the Republicans have gone for the meat.

F9/11 showed a whole lot more than a few seconds of it, and Moore used it as if it meant something completely different. I'm a big fan of Michael Moore, but he dropped the ethical ball on that one.

Enough with feeling vindicated by meaningless gestures that leave Democrats looking like dorks. It was street theater, with no meaning. That's all it was, and I've had enough of that.

If it made you feel better, that's what it was good for. But I don't hold with anyone fooling themselves into thinking those members were speaking for them. If that's the case, you're settling for crumbs.

I want the meat, and nothing less.

Unfortunately January 6th will work to benefit the Repugs, and will be difficult and a challenge for the liberalism community. Rove will fan the flames of the wounds between the Blacks and the Jews by having his propaganda media run ads all the time with Michael Moore as a so called representative of liberalism.

Rove will put Moore on the talk shows, Fox; I think some call it the MSM. Rove will run Conyers as the savior of the Liberalism cause knowing that that will flame more hatred in the world.

But on the other hand it will be a challenge and a time of positive change because the hatred of Rove, Moore, Conyers can only be sustained by the manufacturing of the message of hate. Hate is expensive on the pocket book and the soul for the hater. Many will convert and defect to the liberal Democratic community, that is not a part of the Rove, Moore, Conyers hate parade.

The light of liberalism will rise once again and peace and justice will flow thru the country because it is easier to follow the path of tolerance peace and non-Wars and non-violence.

I guess to put it in practical terms Rove has been following a bankrupt philosophy.

28. Attention Kerry, Edwards, Hillary, Biden, et al.

Any Dem Senator refusing to stand up and fight on Jan. 6 can forget my support in 2008. A repeat of 2000 is totally unacceptable. This nonsense must end now. This is the moment of truth for the party.

Don't be so hard on Kerry, Edwards, Hillary, Biden, et al. because some of them will turn to the right direction of liberalism. None of them will stand up on Jan. 6 but perhaps they will change or just be voted out of power in the Democratic Party.

Try and change them to liberalism by education. Think about it they will want to listen to the kinds of those here on DU because they will have no voice on the Senate, the House and on the local level. All people like to talk and be listened to. They are still human beings that can change. This is a great time to try and convince them to become liberal Democrats and a time for us that are liberals to mold them into liberals in the image of JFK liberal Democrats.
