I didn't realize Kerry had at one time prostrate cancer. When was this?

Cancer is considered "cured" after five years. Has it been 5 years. As I said, I only heard about it this morning when one of the announcers said something about it.

4. He had prostate cancer

He was diagnosed last year in the spring some time, I think, after he announced for the Presidency. I believe he had his prostate or affected cells removed and was considered cured but I don't know. They must be making great strides with this disease since my father died of it ten years ago.

He's fine according to his doctor who is supposed to be the best available for that type of cancer surgery.

btw...I have posted here many times that one of the reasons I felt Dean showed bad character was that he chose that period of Kerry's surgery and recovery to ramp up the attacks against him. I couldn't believe a "doctor" would do that knowing how important the recovery period is. Especially for a patient like Kerry who had also just recently suffered the loss of both his parents. It struck me as extremely self-serving and showed a destructive nature to Dean.

Whose operation was too close to the dual with Hillary and his divorce scandal and continued problems in NYC, besides not being too popular with the con machines. he looked terrible and only seemed to be fully back when 911 revived his career. Strange fates.

Kerry has had a tough go of it with no credit and less knowledge of it in the media. The advantage is that as time heals he actually looks stronger than we remember him at the beginning of his misstep ridden early campaign. That impression and his only personal sense of regained power carries a momentum of its own.

Most guys get prostrate if they live long enough. McCain had his skin lesions, Tsongas I think some cancer or other AFTER losing. Kennedy of course kept his Graves disease a secret, and LBJ tried to keep his bum ticker under wraps. THOSE were issues. Prostrate operations are not except for the temporary toll they take and the stigma any operation bestows on a candidate.

Worry more about Bush's mental and physical health.

Kennedy had Addison's. Reagan had colon cancer. Bob Dole had prostate cancer, too (and a facelift after his loss to Clinton).
