And you can deduct another $50-100 next year!!!
This is true. In Ohio you can get a TAX CREDIT for donations to state candidates. I used to take the credit every year when I lived there. They don't even ask for proof!!
Subject: Act NOW: Reduce Your 2004 Taxes by $50-$100
This is Secretary of State Ken Blackwell with an end of year tax savings tip.
Ohio law allows for a TAX CREDIT for political donations to state political candidates. A TAX CREDIT is better than a deduction, allowing a dollar for dollar reduction of your Ohio tax bill. This tax credit is capped at $50 per individuals and $100 per couples, and to reduce your 2004 tax bill the political donation must be given by December 31st.
So your choice is simple, before Dec 31st you can decide to give $50 to the Blackwell for Governor campaign which will be used to help bring sensible government back to Ohio OR $50 in taxes to the State of Ohio which will help fuel further out of control spending. For married couples the choice is between $100 to my campaign OR $100 in state taxes. For every dollar you give to my campaign up to these limits, state law allows you to REDUCE YOUR STATE TAXES BY THAT AMOUNT . . . dollar for dollar.
The simplest way to donate is online at the following link:
http://www.kenblackwell.com/contribute I encourage you to DO IT NOW as it only takes a minute but you must act before the year ends to be able to reduce your 2004 taxes.
Please feel free to pass this tax tip on to your family and friends in Ohio.
Thanks for your support and Happy New Year!
Ken Blackwell
Ohio Secretary of State and
Gubernatorial candidate
P.S. How do you want your money spent? By an anti-tax, pro-life, pro-marriage conservative who will bring common sense and responsible spending back to Ohio or by the current tax-and-spend crowd in Columbus? It is your choice, but if you want it spent by someone who shares your values, click here.
