The FBI is weighing a corruption investigation of embattled ex-top cop Bernard Kerik, The Post has learned.

Probers are eyeing Kerik's close friendship with mob-linked Wall Street securities trader Lawrence Ray, sources familiar with the matter said.

Ray pleaded guilty to conspiracy in 2001 after being indicted with 18 others, some high-level mobsters, in a $41 million pump-and-dump stock fraud. He then had a falling-out with Kerik over the case.

NEW YORK, NY, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- New York City's ex-police Commissioner Bernard Kerik under investigation by the city might be the subject of a FBI inquiry as well.

Sources told the New York Post the FBI is examining Kerik's relationship with organized crime-linked Wall Street securities trader Lawrence Ray and his $6.2 million profit from exercising stock options in Taser International, which sold stun guns to the Department of Homeland Security.

After being indicted with 18 others, Ray pleaded guilty to conspiracy in 2001 in a $41 million pump-and-dump stock fraud. He had a falling-out with Kerik over the case, the Post said.

Rudy couldn't win a primary in the South, the Plains States or the Mountain States. They think he's a RINO. He's never been a real danger to Jeb.

that's what this Kerik thing was all about. Taking Rudy down a few notches so he wouldn't get too ambitious.

I just hope this pisses Rudy off and he realizes who and what he is really dealing with. He was a very successful prosecutor before he became mayor. Too bad he was only interested in going after his own kind, ie other Italians.

6. Doesn't exactly enhance Rudy as knowing everything going on around him.

RG made his name as "tough" federal prosecutor in NYC during the 80s, routing out the mob and putting them "behind bars". Now, here you have his own police commissioner, one in whom he had to placed a significant amount of trust, and this guy is either doing business peripherally at the worst with Rudy's former nemesis or going around with people who will be embarassing to Kerik's mentor. And right under Rudy's nose. Not good brains or good taste.
