The More $$ we donate to relief fund, the less Bush has to pony up

Listening to him a few minutes ago urging Americans to donate to relief efforts, I can't help but NOT want to donate now because this means that he and his rich friends don't have to pony up millions for the victims and can still give it back to corporate buddies.

I consider myself a Christia-minded person, but I realize that I am unwilling to do anything anymore to help this man's agenda.

Anyone else feeling the same? I'd rather donate to a foreign charity. By the way, I haven't donated yet since I'm still waiting
to decide who to give it to.

Or just tell me I'm a selfish vindictive bitch, I'll understand.

Bush is engaged in a pissing contest that will produce little in the way of relief beyond a few flights until the story is off the front page.

Remember, he promised relief to victims of the Bam earthquake last year, and they're still waiting.

The best way to get the right kind of supplies that will last until the crisis is really over is to contribute to the better NGOs.

3. We are all cynics and jaded over this

quite frankly when I give, will not be to ANY American Organization... but the International Committee of the Red Cross and rather do it in a month.

Two reasons:

I am tapped

They will need the donation in a momth, but people will not give since they have already given

By the way, you do happen to have a couple trillion hangind around, don't you? That is what it would take for Bush not to have to pony any money, that said... I suspect the money he has pledge somehow will not reach the area of need.

I didn't know whether anybody else is having mixed feelings about the two and one half president's drive to raise money from the people. I'm feeling anger and resentment and guilt because I do. The part about buisinesses contributing is great, but not from the people unless they earn over $200,000 a year. It's like levying a tax on the people because Bush spent the government's money on that lousy, unnecessary war and hasn't got it to give to the catastrophe relief.

The piggy-bank of the Bush Empire, which has been built on the backs and at the expense of the American people. The Bush family should be the largest donor to the relief effort, just to prove to the World that they really do care and are unselfish. Heck, the Bush Twins could even go there to volunteer their time and labor for the relief effort. Come on Bush family, just how Christian are you anyway?

I'm sick of this idea of treating relief like it's movie receipts. Give what you are comfortable with giving. Demand the government donate what you feel it should. Ask that your company donate something. And let it go.

Instead of spending $45 million on his stupid party, he should have a $1 million BBQ instead. After all, a majority of the people said they would rather go to a BBQ with Boosh than Kerry. Then he could contribute the remaining $44 million.

My suggestion to you: closely investigate any organization you contribute to & contribute what you can afford. Perhaps find a non-US org to contribute to.
