What the hell happened to Tweety? Is he actually going to go after
BushCo some?

He is talking about what will happen if the Shiites in Iraq try to govern after they win like Bush is governing even though he only won by 3% (or 3 million votes, I can't remember which one he used for his example)? Will they just try to ram-rod everything down the rest of the country's throat? Will they just try to get away with as much as they can just like Bush?

The Military guys he has on all went WAYYY out of their way to say "that's not the way I think President Bush is governing".

I think Tweety voted for Kerry and is rather pissy about Bush.

Of course, tomorrow he may be kissing his ass. We will see.

He was also going on about the hush medals given to Bremer, Franks and Tenet before he went on vacation.

If you don't like the show - fine. Sometimes I don't either. I'm not complaining about it so no need to post that I shouldn't watch it. I know all that crap but sometimes I watch before Keith comes on.

p.s. He said Al Franken will be on Hardball tomorrow.

1. He sometimes surprises me. At the Repug convention I laughed so hard when
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 08:11 PM by Verve
he interviewed/interrogated Bo Derek on her Repuglican views. She came across as such a bimbo, clueless to the issues. He was really quite hard on her. It was surprisingly funny. I was hoping to see him interview "relevant" people in this manner but he never did and I stopped watching him after the election when he was agreeing with the "moral issues won it for Bush crap."

He got some points for that one!

4. Oh and I heard the Zeller interview was good. Isn't it Tweety that Zeller
wanted to duel? Too bad I missed it.

6. He did a good interview with John O'Neil once and nailed him to the wall.
Then some sh#$ must have been going on in the background because he had O'Neil on again and didn't challenge his bullsh#$ at all, nor did he have a Kerry person on to rebut the allegations afterward.

I forgot about that one - it really pissed me off.

3. AFAIK Tweety used to be an
actual progressive, back when the SF Examiner used to be an actual newspaper. Maybe he's come back to his senses?

Good on Al to be on the show, I think I'll make a point of catching it. Al is too MOR for me but maybe he can touch the Tweety fan.

7. Tweety's last interview with Rummy
was great. Rummy can do a doozy of a waffle dance, hemming and hawing at the same time. Thought Rummy might come close to losing it. He seemed baffled when attempting to answer Tweety's oft-repeated pointed question "was Iraq worth it, was there a connection between Iraq and 9/11?" Rummy was clearly hating it. Rock on Tweety!
Damn it, wish we had competent people running our country.

10. Didn't Rummy tell Tweety he needed to get a life - don't pay so much
attention to the details?

Don't they wish.

8. Tweety is a self-hating prog.
He may be liberal at heart, but he's tougher on dems then repubs. Unless they are as wacked as Malkin, or Zell.

9. I think I've seen some of that around here too.
Of course, we do expect more from them but sometimes we need to cut them a little slack.

11. I think Tweety is only in it to get paid for a days work
He has lost his moral compass, but appears on occasion to enjoy abusing his guests- with slightly more emphasis on the dems, just to please his boss.

ps: Do you think he know his nickname is Tweety?? I always wonder that!

13. Matthews spilled the beans about Gen. Wayne Downing (Ret).
I've been listening to that blowhard for months talk about all the positives in Iraq and I couldn't quite figure him out. Matthews, in his intro, gave one of Downing's "credentials" as a former advisor to the NSC and Condi Rice. First time I ever heard that mentioned.

14. No surprise. Some Generals like McCafferty (sp) have been quite
critical but that guy just spouts WH talking points.

16. Oh, I know. I watch enough to know that he always does that. I do think
he is not a big fan of this Administration but he isn't consistent about it.

I do think the Repukes try to blackmail shows. If you are too tough they just won't let any Republicans go on.

I wish someone would just say - fine, f@#k you, I'll have Democrats, pundits and journalists on until they back down. I'd love it.

18. I agree, PS
I think he tries to walk that fine line. I loved hearing Tweety say on Bill Maher that he was a dem. Then he blew me away when he claimed he thought * had won one of the debates, when I thought it was clear * had won nothing. Wishy-washy, inconsistent, but entertaining occasionally, and also right-on at times.

19. He hated Clinton and that really contaminated a lot of his show with
regards to Democrats. He voted for Bush in 2000. I really doubt he did this time. He will probably tell us in a few years.

20. "That's not the way President Bush is governing"
What a load! Name ONE thing wherein Bush sacrificed money or corporate interests on behalf of the common good. The environment? Iraq? Bankruptcy laws? Torture? Nope, every time Bush goes with poor, oppressed capital over the rapacious needs of people for clean water and air, healthful and nutritious food, easy and cheap access to health care, or pratically anything else you can name.

The only reason Bush is doing anything even resembling the right thing in the tsunami aftermath is because millions if not billions of people were on him like the DTs when he's away from the ranch for too long.
