He told FOX he "started saying the rosary" when he saw one area particularly hard hit by the tsunami.

"I cannot begin to imagine the horror that went through the families and all of the people who heard this noise coming and then had their lives snuffed out by this wave," said Powell. "The power of the wave to destroy bridges, to destroy factories, to destroy homes, to destroy crops, to destroy everything in its path is amazing. "

"I hope that as a result of our efforts, as a result of our helicopter pilots being seen by the citizens of Indonesia helping them, that value system of ours will be reinforced," Powell said.

lot of anguish, a lot of tension that isn't my style. I didn't
really appreciate all the satellite dishes out here. And the
night of the appearance of the Virgin of Guadalupe, on Dec.
12, was the day. That night the Supreme Court ruled in favor
of the president,'' the governor said.

''That was the more emotional day, Dec. 12,'' he said. ``This
year, the election was over on election night. So we've kind
of moved on.''

We still have long range problems from the hurricanes, there are still people who are homeless , some still trying to live in homes that are badly damaged. Blue tarps are everywhere, hard to get contractors to get work done, Insurance companiees slow to respond for some. Fema trailers are hard to come by. My mom lives in Vero, it is still struggling to repair areas. Homes that are being demolished are being replace with cost twice of what owners can afford. Many seniors are leaving because they cannot afford the cost of rplacement homes. Hotels along Brevard coastline still unoccupied, and trying to recover, that has put many people out of work.
So Jeb how about getting a handle on Fl. before you try to tell other countries what needs to be done, Just flying over and hoping you are noticed sure don't make you a candidate for president, or anything else!

On edit: The reciting (saying) of the Rosary can be in groups. Jeb was using a very poor choice of words or was thinking of Protestent fundamentalists by using the term "saying" instead of "reciting", or better yet "praying" the Holy Rosary.

If one is surrounded by others, it's most thoughtful to pray the Holy Rosary in silence or a low voice.

I was a practicing Catholic for 40 years and went to parochial schools and never heard anyone criticized for claiming to have "said the rosary".
