Why Senator Barbara Boxer should be the one to step up tomorrow

Senator Boxer was just overwhelmingly re-elected to a six year term by a very liberal California.

Boxer will still be in office long after the idiot Bush is gone. She will win re-election again if she decided to seek another six year term.

The Republicans would be extremely hard pressed to punish CA for it, because it would put an enormous amount of pressure on the already unraveling of CA Republican Governor Musclehead.

Boxer would be a historical Senator, that would shatter this lying, cheating republican "mandate".

And Because it's the right thing to do for America.




(But she won't. like every other Democrat frighten of the Republicans.)

The power elites, the corporate donors and the media can make ANY candidate look like Cynthia McKinney for a few months during an election season. That is why the US Senate is tame. They are people who have already won the golden parachute and intend to keep it. Cynthia McKinney's loss was a shot across the bow of anyone who doesnt toe the line. In fact, McKinney herself will be a lot more compliant on the issues that REALLY matter, you watch.

12. However, your speaking about a Senator from a liberal state

(and more liberal with each passing day), from CA, as opposed to a Congresswoman from a district in Georgia. Six years vs. two years, it makes a huge difference. Bush will fuck up, no doubt, and it all becomes academic after he's been out of office for two years.

Boxer would be able to offset the republican bullshit that would indeed be fired at her. Boxer is smart, tough & media savvy and Boxer will always have the bucks needed, as well as being well embraced in CA by the people (much more than Feinstein)...I mean to say, Gore & Kerry, both never spent a dime in CA and won by over 12 points. That must be taken into consideration.

Boxer is NOT a Tom Daschle, from a red state, a spineless, duplicit kiss-ass.

And no matter how you put it, Cynthia McKinney did win again and I won't sell her short to speak her mind. What would they use against her next time the same old shit?

3. I wrote her about the 2000 election and she said to get over it.

Basically she said in a letter to me that we should get over the 2000 election and work with * to solve prolems. She would probably say the same today.

I had a long talk with someone in her office in 2001. Her Boxerette said, "The Senator has to choose her battles" and election fraud just isn't one of them. Nice, huh?

I called her office today - both in L.A. AND San Francisco, and made it clear: I am a constituent. I GAVE MONEY to her reelection campaign, as well as my vote and my activism. She won, handily, and now she's safe for SIX years. Now, she is the one with political capital to spend - indeed, more than bush, because she won by a larger margin. And as for me, I reminded them that I now expect a return on my investment. They seemed pretty receptive.

Besides, there was an email sent around to the Dem-CA groups today, quoting her as saying that, if enough of her constituents spoke up, she would, indeed, stand with Conyers tomorrow. So I made sure I spoke up. I called several other Dem senators, too, and Jim Jeffords, the Independent from Vermont.
