On Jan 21 - 23, 2005, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is sponsoring a Progressive Democratic Summit in Washington D.C. Participants include Amy Goodman (Democracy Now), Tom Hayden, Medea Benjamin (Global Exchange, Code Pink), William Rivers Pitt (Truthout), Jim Zogby (Arab American Institute) and dozens of other respected activists, with more being added every day.

The Summit is an historic opportunity to meet with progressive grassroots activists and progressive allies from across the country and to strengthen our collaborative ties and efforts as we work to end the war in Iraq, to call for single payer health care, and to challenge the Bush administration's devastating approach to social security and our environment.
The Summit is an active "working weekend" with hands-on action panels and small group meetings of regional and issue-specific allies. It is our hope that participants will leave the Summit with a unified vision of how to re-engage the citizenry, take back the heart and soul of the political process and the Democratic Party, and reclaim our democracy, our economy and our institutions from the moneyed interests and the military-industrial complex now controlling them.
