"Outside the box" choices for Prez 2008?

FYI, "the box" would include anyone who ran for Prez in '04, any Clinton/Gore, and Barack Obama. (Seriously, let the guy walk on to the Senate floor before starting his campaign.)

6. I'm hoping for an impressive Governor to emerge.

I really think we should stay away from the House & Senate. If I remember rightk, the last Senator to be elected directly out of the SEnate was Jack Kennedy. There have been a few who went from the Senate to be VP, and then elected on their own.

Seems Governors have the best shot in both parties.

I'm not very familiar with too many Gov's. I know I don't want Ex Gov Roy Barnes or Ga., and I sure don't want Ex Gov. Tom Ridge of Pa. I had never heard of Gov. Bill Clinton until he began his campaign, so I think there's real hope that a great Gov. will emerge!

the most progressive ideas. I will support the candidate who is more concerned with the welfare of the people than with corporations. Anyone who didn't support at least investigating the election fraud, which unfortunately narrows the list considerably.

16. I was already thinking "out of the Box" in 2003....

When I chose to support a Democratic General for the presidency. I think that this continues to represent the smart "out of the Box" thinking....to have a General run during wartime (if you think we've heard the last on the War on Terror from Republicans....think again and be don't be fooled) after the greatest National Security lapse to have ever occurred and to counteract Republicans who will continue to use this tragedy to promote themselves (as it has worked for them big time thus far).

I believe that revisiting the 1992 concept of a southern moderate governor is NOT out of the box.....but rather trying some of the tried and true same ol' same ol'....and because times and circumstances have dramatically changed, I don't even think that this 1992/1996 redux will work the next time around. To continue to ignore National Security strengths as a pre-requisite for a Dem candidate is pretty much in the "box" for Democrats.

PS. John Kerry did not represent National Security strength for the Dems. Fighting in a war almost 40 years ago does not pass as National Security expertise....but rather military experience...which is not the same thing.
