Maxine Waters will March Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Jan. 17 LA, CA |

At the MLK Parade March with IAC and Maxine Waters to Save King/Drew When: Monday Jan. 17 at 9 AM Meeting Point: NW corner of Normandie and MLK Blvd. in LA To Contact Us: (323) 936-7266 Join the International Action Center as we march with Maxine Waters and community activists leading the "Save King/Drew" contingent. The King/Drew activists and Representative Waters are waging a courageous and honorable fight for our health care and we need to support their efforts. That support will help honor the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who said that "the bombs in Vietnam explode at home; they destroy the hopes and possibilities for a decent America." As we come up on another celebration of the life of King we can't forget how true those words ring today with the Bush administration squeezing every social service out of our communities to feed an infinitely hungry war machine - a machine that destroys hopes and dreams of children from Baghdad to Los Angeles. We must stand in solidarity with the people most affected by the closing of King/Drew hospital and demand more health care, not less; more emergency facilities, not less. United we can win - please join us next Monday and help make the parade reflect King's struggle for peace with justice. ps. We'll be making placards and a banner for the parade at our office this Saturday from 11am to 3pm. If you can help please call (323) 936-7266 or just come to our office at 5274 W. Pico Blvd., Rm 203 in Los Angeles. We're just 5 blocks west of La Brea on Pico.

1. What will the Republikkkans do to diss MLK this year? Any day now... |
|
Every year the Klan in suits and ties at the GOP do something to give a wink and a nod to the racists that support them as a 'counter-balance' to Martin Luthur King Day.
You can set your watch to it. Here it comes in just a few days.
