Rice makes it possible for white racists to congratulate themselves

I won't deny that Dr. Rice is very intelligent, though her skills as a Soviet specialist are more applicable for the Cold War era. She seems visibly out of her element in this world order.

Anyway, she also serves an even more valuable role for Republicans and the Right. Condoleezza Rice plays an important role for every white conservative racist Republican who privately uses the N-word, or won't let their little princess date black boys, or moves to the exurbs because they fear the increasing non-white population of the suburbs. Rice provides these people with the ability to pat themselves on the back and assure themselves they they could not possibly be racist.

"See, see! Look at me! I'm not racist! Why, I'm a big fan of Condoleezza Rice!"

1. I've felt that too

I've heard callers (White Conservatives) into RW radio just gushing over Condi and saying how much of "victim" because of those bad bad Democrat Senators.

2. actually I think the GOP is more concerned about the Hispanic vote

look for more nominations like Estrada or Gonzales. Remember unless the GOP can win 35% or better of the Hispanic vote the long term prospects for GOP assuming fair elections are not good.
