Like it or not, presidents usually get the cabinets they want and, with Republicans controlling the senate, this time isn't going to be any different.

And if every Democrat opposed her and convinced 6 renegade Republicans to join them (yeah, like thats gonna happen :eyes: ), Bush would just appoint some other neo-con and we wouldn't be a damn bit better off.

The biggest fight I remember (and it is vague because I was just a kid) was the Tower nomination because they were worried he couldn't perform the job (drinking problem), otherwise the Prez gets to pick.

I'm glad Boxer and Kerry voted against her as a protest but the Yes votes don't turn Dodd, Biden, Obama, etc. into Neocons.

They don't view the vote as approval of Bush Foreign Policy.

was an outspoken black woman. That didn't help. But, mainly, it was Rethugs trying to force President Clinton to stiff the labor unions and he refused. Basically, it was a protest vote by extremist Republicans.
