A pledge, advice and a call for $$$ from Nancy Pelosi

Conservatives have gathered in the nation's capital to celebrate George W. Bush's re-inaugural. And what, exactly, do you think they're celebrating?

That President Bush and his Republican Congress will soon have run this country so deep into debt that it will take generations to repair the damage? Or is it the fact that President Bush has publicly promised that no one will be held accountable for the mess in Iraq, despite mass deception about weapons of mass destruction, and despite the fact that we have lost more than 1,500 heroic soldiers with more than 10,000 wounded?

Personally, I don't feel much like celebrating. So I'm going to mark the occasion by pledging to do everything in my power to fight the extremist Republican's destructive agenda.

I'm not opening my checkbook until I see some opposing from the opposition. If they give the party chairman's job to some big wuss, I farking quit. I will be an "I" and proud of it, and the Democrats will have to earn my vote like everybody else.

it's a rumor whose veracity is in doubt, and a rumor that is getting a lot of play in the Washington Times and the NY Post.

Aside from believing the rumor, are you sure you want to SPREAD it?

edit: and regarding Roemer himself, one good thing about him is that he's against NAFTA, which might be unique among the DNC chair candidates, and which I think is at the very top of what dems should stand for.

Roemer's pretty bad on TV, he's pro-life, and he was part of what I think was a whitewash of 9/11, but on the other hand he's anti-NAFTA and I think that should be pointed out.

I actually don't know after reading it what Roemer thinks about SS, and I definitely think the author's conclusions are not supported.

11. two very big problems

first, this thread was about Pelosi, and I think the Pelosi-Roemer link is extremely weak, which was my original point.

Second, the evidence this blogger claims of Roemer's intent to "destroy Social Security" just isn't evidence. It seems mostly to be based on Roemer's presence at this event. That's not evidence of anything. Nothing was provided of what Roemer said there, aside from some welcoming comments that said nothing about privitization or any other specific policies. And the part that the blogger put in boldface only mentioned Social Security in passing.

I have no idea what the Mercator Center is, or what membership in the center means about Roemer. Maybe it means Roemer is a disciple of Scaife, but that blog article sure doesn't demonstrate it.

on Tuesday, along with Byron Dorgan, another Dem. Funny, it didn't cost her a nickel to stand in front of the cameras and speak the truth to the C-Span2 audience. What's so hard about that? Why should it require $$$$$ into somebody's coffers?
