On a day, when the Republicans expected everything to be business as usual in Republican Orange County, Democrats, Greens, and other anti-Bush groups took their rally to the center of business. They assembled at the U.S. District Court (the Ronald Reagan Courthouse) and marched to the Plaza of the Flags (in the center of the Civic Center in full view of all floors of the county courthouse, the state building and the federal building) where their rally took place. Though there were excellent speakers from the Democratic and Green Parties, the one speaker who seemed to garner the most attention was 13 year old Natasha, who told the crowd how Bush went about stealing the election, praised Barbara Boxer and the 31 Representatives, compared Bush's nominees to Nazis, called for the resignation of any Senator who fails to filibuster the remaining nominees, and encouraged the audience to take action. She finished with a dedication of her most recent poem to Barbara Boxer and the 31 Representatives. One newspaper photographer described Natasha as passionate. After the rally, they marched around the outside of the Civic Center and through a corridor where homeless people were camped out. The march ended back at the Ronald Reagan Courthouse. Cars honked approval and people expressed agreement with the protesters.
