History Channel Shows - "The Presidents," "Inside the Presidency"

In lieu of watching the inaugral proceedings over the past few days, I found some interesting shows on the History Channel. Some here might be interested in these.

One was a series of shows titled "The Presidents." Each show of the series covered a period of history and presented a brief bio and analysis of each of our county's presidents and their terms of office. I think the series will be re-broadcast this coming week. Check it out if you get a chance, I learned quite a few things from it.

Then there was "Inside the Presidency with Bob Woodward" in which he interviewed and gave an analysis of each of the currently living presidents (except GWB - for the current term, Dick Cheney substituted (like, is this like real life or what???)). Anyway, it was interesting and I learned some stuff.

1. I saw them all

I did notice that when they got to dubya, they made a joke out of the hanging chads in Florida. They also noted that he had been re-elected at the time of taping, but said nothing of any controversy.

I'm hate that channel now.

I think it was the one about Ike.

6. I watched most of these programs

interesting stuff. I felt that as they got into modern times with more partisan feelings they did a fair job of being fair and balanced, pardon the expression. I found it interesting that when they were covering the first Bush Presidency they seemed to rub it in that he built a large coalition for the Gulf War, a master diplomat if not the best for modern Presidents, an internationalist, and never wanted to take Baghdad as an option. I felt they were purposely emphasizing that to say, "this is how it should be done"

7. also in the Woodward interview

Ford disagreed with Bush about spreading freedom around the world. He was the last rational republican President. and Carter shined, what a true man of morales. a true christian President, a humble man.
