TechMission, Inc. Boston $495,000 Educ. Dept Community Technology Centers
http://www.thememoryhole.org/pol/faith_based_2003_page2.htmWhat is the difference between TechMission and AC4?
http://www.ac4.org/about/techmissionac4.phpTechMission, Inc. is the name of our non-profit organization. The Association of Christian Community Computer Centers (AC4) is one program of TechMission, Inc. TechMission also operates another program called TechMission Boston. Recently our board made a decision to feature TechMission more prominently as our public image (largely because "Association of Christian Community Computer Centers" is difficult to say and remember), but TechMission has always been the incorporated name of the organization.
http://www.ac4.org/about/about.phpIn 2003, we launched our TechMission Boston Program which is a regional hub of technology programs in the greater Boston area. TechMission Boston supports technology in after-school programs, teen programs and computer classes for workforce development. TechMission Boston supports these sites by providing staffing, volunteers, equipment and curriculum.
The key goal of TechMission is to assist churches and Christian organizations to become a major driving force behind computer literacy just as they were with basic literacy.
Although all of the centers on our list are faith-based and have a Christian character, TechMission is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian social service organization. A key emphasis of TechMission is outreach, which includes serving everyone regardless of their religious beliefs.Outreach? Is that like "evangelism?"
