I don't know, I just get the feeling that Boxer started the demise of Bush. I am not saying he will be impeached but it seems like we finally reached a turning point in Bush's momentum. I can just feel the air starting to swish out of the Bush Administration tire. His approval rating will continue to drop and public outrage will begin to up swell and bubble up until Bush is cooked and leaves office in complete shame and enters an elite group of men known as Pathetic Presidents. In fact he could end up the king of that group after it's all said and done.

Then again, I could be fooling myself and giving the country too much credit?

I love Boxer and admire her as a true patriot. What strikes me is that she's been way out front twice in the past 20 days -- 1/06 objection to Ohio and her persuasive opposition to Rice. The world did not end for her, the full weight of the CM (corporate media) did not fall on her, her constituents did not revolt (just talked to a friend in CA who fired her a "C note" spontaneously after watching her tonight). She's not so far out front any more which means others are joining her. Look at the Senate debate any of you who doubt this. According to the "conventional wisdom," she should be getting slammed and she's getting more popular and some good press. I think this is part of the basis for your intuition and I think you're right on target.

We're in Iraq, and they themselves said the need to be there transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.

And since when has shame ever had any impact in Washington? We have people from Iran-Contra in power today.

These guys want war. They hate the UN. I'm sure they enjoy seeing all these countries lining up with each other. Russia and China. China and Iran. China and Brazil. Russia and Syria. And so long as the news media is persuaded that's in their interest to give it's viewers what they want.
