They gave Condi a pass, but I think we're about to see very strong opposition to Alberto the torturer. Problem is, voting against him isn't enough. They need to filibuster. I actually don't think that's outside of the realm of possibility. All the dems on Committee voted against him.

Rice's nomination passed with the most no votes of any Secretary of State nominee in history.
The runner-up was Kissinger with 7.
Rice had 13 no votes.

and I also doubt highly that even filibustering Gonzales will be enough for some people.

One of my Senators voted for her, and Leahy had nothing to lose by voting nay. Same goes for others. I'm not about to start railing against Leahy because of this vote, but I am disappointed.
