If I were Bush, I would hate my job. Having to show up yet again & be a cheerleader for a huge failure. He tries; but he fails to inspire.
As things get continually worse, it becomes more and more difficult to find good things to say. But he tries. Repeats the same phrases over and over, on the assumption that if he says "freedom" 1,000,000 like his personal mantra, it will actually become true.
We look at him, but all we see is his drooping mouth, his empty eyes, his gulping and stammering and lying. As the beads of sweat start to build on his forehead, everyone knows what's really happening in Iraq.
No one believes his rhetoric. No one. Bush is just doing this as a rite of passage, something that's expected of the president.
