actually, two.
One was before the elction where he predicted that Kerry would win, but Bush would remain in power.
The second was recently, he thinks that Bush will not complete second term.
I had the the same feeling about the election, as did my best offline friend. We talked for hours and hours and days on how Bush would pull it off, but we didn't think fraud, we thought faux terrorism.
The second thought is also floating in my thoughts much more lately. I f you can manage to stand back and look at all the facts, it is quite easy to see that something is going to give. There are just too many scandals under the surface, but I think that the war coupled with a serious economic downturn around the corner, and folks -- red state folks -- will turn on him and start to come at him from all sides. Internally the debates are brewing: social security, immigration, no action on the gay marriage/abortion ( and there won't be, it was a contrived wedge issue to get the religious vote otherwise known as pandering) the WAR that we're losing, the conflict between the pentagon and the CIA, the massive deficit, the looting of SS, jobs and the dollar and China.
All of the above issues are no longer going to be swept under the rug and hopefully, finally, the Bush base is going to scream, "The Emporer Has No Clothes!" I think he will be impeached or shamed out of office somehow. It just seems inevitable, not even Houdini could escape this mess we're in.
