McLaughlin Group for this weekend ... they air it here on Friday night on PBS. One of the discussions centered on remarks made by Ted Kennedy in which he thought we should begin an immediate drawdown of troops in Iraq after the election and a time table for getting completely out. John McLaughlin agreed with him.
He has been skeptical of the neo-colonialism from the beginning.
Also, and I would really like to get people's recollections and thoughts on this, Tony Blankley drew a blank or maybe it was Pat Buchanan or maybe it was both (an incipient talking point perhaps) when they said, in response to Mac's question regarding whether the presence of US troops was exacerbating the terrorism in Iraq (duh, but he was making a point). Pat admitted that we WERE the cause of the "insurrection" but that we had to "defeat the insurgents."
When did this thing become about defeating insurgents?
Think of the implication of that.
Defeating insurgents.
This gets curiouser and curiouser.
