Thomas Sowell writes, Jan 28: "The enraged speeches and street disorders across the country that accompanied the inauguration of Bush may tell us more than we want to know about what is happening to this country." He sure got that right. First, it says a lot about the media who forgot to mention the enraged speeches and street disorders in the first place. Second, the people, when given the facts, no WMD, no Iraqi connections to 9-11 etc.. get very upset about being lied to. Bush's approval rating one week after inauguration is the lowest in American history for any incumbent president. The majority of Americans do not think the life of one American was worth the likes of Saddam Hussein, who had no WMD, couldn't even get an airplane off the ground let alone threaten the US. Mr. Sowell, do you know who these protesters are? Have you interviewed them? Many are grandmas, Moms and dads, workers, soldiers, people who have risked their lives for you to call them names like adolescent self-indulgers. Tell that to the mothers and fathers who have lost the most in this absurd war who were out there protesting, tell it to the veterans who marched with self-indulgers who fought for your right to call them names. Say it loud so it will reach the graves of the dead who fought for your right to call the dissenters of this sick administration names. Tell it to the many young people marching against Bush's illegal and barbaric war against innocent people. Speaking of barbarians the barbarians are in the White-house waging endless wars in the name of freedom and peace. People only resort to taking to the streets when all else fails. We tried to stop this endless senseless killing but the media tooted the government propaganda horn. We wrote letters to editors, senators, news outlets. We marched in the streets. We tried to get the truth out. The war was illegal. The whole world marched. Bush is the most protested man in history. The uninformed went along for the ride, never being shown pictures of the war dead and injured. All is well in war if you don't see the devastation. Our media hides the truth of war. If you could see the dead soldiers, weeping parents, injured soldiers, dead Iraqi children, Iraqi children morning the death of their parents, the destroyed universal treasures of Iraq, the destroyed buildings, homes, schools etc... Thomas you hurt the world by supporting King George's madness.
