Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid will issue a pre-State of the Union Challenge tomorrow for the Bush administration to outline an exit strategy for Iraq.

When Pelosi was in the press supporting Roemer for DNC chair, I bit the bullet and called her local office. Said if she supported him, I couldn't support her.

Maybe there's a spine in there after all?

5. Reid and Pelosi need to SCREAM that the best, cheapest, most REASONABLE

way to fix social security is not to throw it to the wolves in the stock market, but to require ALL SALARIES, at ALL levels of payroll (including the $10 Million paid CEO's) to pay the same percentage on social security that every other working person has to pay.

We'd have NO problem keeping social security solvent forever and ever, amen!

6. That's right. Bush has made a huge mistake in taking this on

SS is a very popular program and given a choice between it and Bush, people will choose their checks.

7. they could raise the bar... i believe it's around 80K now where you stop

paying any further FICA. if the bar was raised to $200k the amount generated would be tremendous, and the millionaires wouldn't complain much. interestingly enough, did you know that absolutely NO income from property rental can be subject to FICA? so if you're a landlord, it doesn't matter how much you make... you will never have to pay any FICA taxes at all on your rental property income.
