http://www.simonforchair.org/about_simon/Simon Rosenberg: Ready from Day One to Lead the DNC
No other candidate matches Simon Rosenberg’s combination of vision, passion, and experience. He is ready from day one to lead the DNC in fighting and winning on the 21st century political battleground.
Simon Rosenberg has:
Founded and serves as president of the New Democrat Network, which has grown since 1996 to become a powerful, national network of leaders committed to modernizing progressive politics and building a winning, durable Democratic majority.
Raised tens of millions of dollars and supported nearly 500 candidates and state parties to help Democrats from all parts of the party win in every part of the country, at every level of government.
Helped elect more than 50 members of Congress and dozens of statewide elected officials, and invested in a new generation of political leaders at the state and local level.
Worked on the ground in 12 states across the country, including Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Worked with all parts of the party across 14 years of working full time in Democratic politics, as a veteran of two presidential campaigns, including the Clinton War Room where he helped run the campaign’s national grassroots effort in 1992, and the DNC’s senior staff.
Produced several cutting-edge media campaigns to promote the Democratic brand in tough states like Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The "Restoring the Promise of America" campaign was described by National Journal’s Hotline as "the first serious attempt we’ve seen any Dem group make in trying to revive the Dem 'brand' in non-Dem places."
Ran a $6 million, 10-state media campaign to specifically target and persuade Hispanic voters that produced clear gains in Hispanic support for the Democratic issue agenda – and which serves as a model for how the DNC can communicate with other groups of voters, such as African-Americans, Asian-Americans, rural and exurban voters, active military and veterans, women, and young voters.
Developed thoughtful, forward-thinking strategic advice for the party through NDN’s New Majority Coalition research project that is identifying the voters we need to win and how we should talk to them.
Crafted a national message for our party with the NDN Agenda, "A Commitment to Hope and Progress," which provides a positive, optimistic vision for America that embraces the very best of our values and speaks to voters no matter where they live.
Helped launch a project to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to invest in building our party’s infrastructure for the years ahead, and helped create new groups like the Democracy Alliance and Media Matters.
Served as a visible and effective spokesman for the party in television, print, and radio.
Championed today’s exploding growth of participation in politics through the Internet and promoted making citizen-activists into partners in our fight – not just donors to our cause.
