Tim Blair doesn't get it (my cartoon, that is).

I noticed a big spike in my site traffice this morning, and tracked much of it back to Tim Blair's blog. Whomever the hell he is, but he obviously gets a lot of readers, and I've seen his name metioned here before.

Well, in regard to my latest cartoon regarding the Iraq Election, Blair rails on against the "Silence of the Left." Specifically, about my cartoon, he states:

"Don’t ever give up your dream, little guy! Another happy fellow finds artistic inspiration in the murder of Iraqi voters; tee hee! Guy got blowed up!" (hotlinked as he wrote it).

It never ceases to amaze when I see people so clearly devoid of understanding of an issue. Does this Tim Blair guy honestly think the message of this cartoon had anything to do with "Tee hee, guy got blowed up?" Is that schtick for your readers, Tim, or are you really that vacuous and ignorant?

And judging from the hate mail I've already received this morning, your readers' understanding -- or sense of humor, or irony -- is not any further evolved! Thanks for the hits, though! So far it looks like its gonna be a record day.

1. Oh, as long as I'm "Hitting Back..."

A Mr. "Evil Pundit of Doom," in his critique of my cartoon, spoke of its message backfiring because the soldier is in support of democracy, or some such nonsense. Tough to follow, as the "soldier" was not a soldier at all. Unfortunately, in print or on a better monitor, he might have seen the "MSM EMBED" tag attached to the reporter's helmet.

The casual pants and yellow shirt might have been further hints. Too bad you missed all that before speaking out, Mr. Evil. It might have changed your interpretation. All that notwithstanding, I'm glad to have the opportunity to speak my mind, and I'm glad the Tim Blair fans are as well.

For the time being. I'll look out for my own country's interest, Tim & Pals. You'd best do the same. In George Bush's world -- and believe me, it is officiall now George Bush's to do with what he pleases -- we're all going to be on our own. No one is going to listen to either of us when BushCo taxes the internet out of viability or brings "Internet2" online. Which side are YOU fighting for, or are you more concerned with my little cartoons hurting some Iraqi's feelings?

3. More righties!

Since TimBlair.net linked up my cartoon this morning, heavy traffic. Then sometime this afternoon, something called FreeWillBlog also linked to the cartoon in question, also making some ridiculous comment about its message being one of leftists wanting to see innocent Iraqis die.

Bizarro world logic if I ever heard it. And Steve, even if the guys IS mistaken for a soldier, it really doesn't change the message much. In fact, it might reinforce it...you see. As in Ohio, the early indications in Iraq spelled trouble. Car bombings, 33 killed. BUT, supposedly, everything wound up going rather smoothly after that. If you believe that, then no matter how you slice, no matter whether or not my cartoon character was a Stars & Stripes reporter, or one for the Village Voice, it appears the early exit polling was wrong.

I think at one point they were even calling it an 80% turnout. So, why do the right wing whackos insist on this lunacy that the cartoon indicates that the left thinks Iraqis should be killed? Is the right simply incapable of rational thought?
