3. Who will be the mystery guest this year?
Chalabi? LOL

I expect Karzai and the woman who ran from Afghanistan will be there.

Gee...I can't wait for Wednesday! I should get tons of stuff done around the house during the waste of time that Busholini will be on.

4. no names are given
WASHINGTON Per tradition, Laura Bush will have some guests with her as the president delivers his State of the Union address Wednesday.

The first lady tells N-B-C she'll be sitting with voters from Afghanistan and Iraq. She says it's "encouraging" to see the three recent elections in Afghanistan, the Palestinian territories and now, Iraq.

5. Cool! Time to play 'Spot the Spies'!
The goal is to guess not only which guests are foreign spies, but which countries they are working for.

6. Ahmad who?
Chalabi? I wonder how many times you'll see THAT name in the next couple of days, or if the networks will honor the White House's preference that such matters not be discussed because it might embarrass the Shrubbery.

Don't get around much anymore.

Work is highly burdensome right now. Not much time to post, but reading as always. Nice to see you, too! :hi:

11. Let them have their fun...
We all know that while emotionally the elections in Iraq may be good that they probably won't amount to much in the long run. You can't have a valid election under an occupying force. Didn't work in Afghanistan when Russia was there and it didn't work for us in Vietnam.

Palestinan Election: 'Free & Fair' Under Military Occupation
by jo swift at 09:51AM (CET) on January 12, 2005 | Permanent Link
The recent election in Palestine, the first of two scheduled Middle East votes this month to be held under occupation, came complete with the humiliation and indignity that is meted out daily to the long-suffering Palestinian people.

The electoral experience in the West Bank and Gaza drove home the point that if “free and fair” elections are but a cynical myth in class-divided “democracies”, then they are a complete farce for those living under the boot of military occupation.

And so there was the spectacle of Mustafa al-Barghouti, widely recognized as the closest rival to Mahmoud Abbas, being detained by Israeli security forces three times during his campaign.
