MSNBC: Bush, with lowest 2nd term rating since Nixon, in "a feisty mood"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6893732/

WASHINGTON - President Bush is ready to challenge Congress to approve a stack of politically divisive measures he has proposed before without success, from major changes in Social Security to a loosening of the nation’s immigration laws.

Bush will go before Congress and the nation with his annual State of the Union message Wednesday night with the lowest approval rating of any second-term president since Richard Nixon. Yet he is in a feisty mood, insisting that his re-election has given him a mandate for change and political capital to spend in pursuing his agenda.

Even though Republicans control both houses of Congress, Bush’s proposals face major obstacles. Democrats are deeply suspicious of the president, feeling he has ignored them and refused to compromise.

Republicans are wary about Bush’s ambitious Social Security plan because of the political risks of tampering with one of the government’s most popular programs. Facing re-election next year as Bush moves toward lame duck status, GOP lawmakers can’t be counted on for rock-solid unity.

1. Feisty? I'll fight him. Bring it on!
But he is too cowardly to fight me, I'm sure. I would whip his butt.

3. Hey media whores: he's ARROGANT, not "FEISTY"
"Feisty" is a kitty cat that's chasing the catnip mouse around the living room. But Bush's insistence that he has a mandate in the face of such low numbers... it's pure arrogance.

The whores use cute kitty cat words like "feisty" to describe a lying, bloodthirsty warmonger who has drained our treasury, is destroying our social services and infrastructure, has wrecked our clout in the world (no one will ever trust us again), and is killing soldiers and innocents every single day for no reason whatsoever other than his family's greed.

He's just adorable.

7. Good point.
fiesty means willing to fight. Arrogant means that he thinks he shouldn't have to.

19. Actually, that's probably how Bush thinks of our soldiers.
Standing at attention, constantly smiling. . . two dimensional non-humans that can be spent and replaced as casually as cardboard props.
