Why is * getting credit for the increase in military fam death benefits?
He didn't do anything having to do with it. Though he did send those troops to their death. The text of the bill(H.R. 292) is here:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/C?c109:./temp/~c109Bx4qJe
It was introduced by bi-partisan members of congress. It increases the death benefit from $12,000 to $100,000, though I've been hearing something about $250,000 on TV. Anyway, the media keeps saying "Bush to increase death benefits". That's not true, all he does is increase death! :wtf:

2. Same reason he got credit for $300 tax rebate checks.

He's the president. Those rebate checks were a compromise demanded by Democrats in exchange for their support for the tax cut. What was worse, the bahtard actually printed "part of the Bush tax cut" right on the checks!

7. Democrats supported rolling them back
That's how Bush got credit for them. Just like Democrats attacked Homeland Security, so Bush got credit for that too. And the Patriot Act, portions of which Democrats have been pushing for since OKC. We can't very well get credit for things when the noisiest part of our party is ripping them apart.

3. He doesn't get credit, he takes credit and the media
follows along blindly. Remember the 9/11 Commission? Remember Homeland Security? He takes credit for those, but was totally against them from the beginning. This is SOP.

Got it? Department of Homeland Security, $300 tax rebates, and other things that make you go puke!

He takes credit for the things he "doesn't do" and refuses the blame for the things he does.

8. It was a Governor that lobbied for an increase in the benefit...
I think it might had been Iowa... I know it was a Democrat. The Governor wanted to at least pass a bill in his state for National Guard members from his state.

I would go for $100,000 but not $250K. I hope there are limits as to who would be eligible. Spouses or their children yes!

Does the cost of the funeral come out of that amount? Is a funeral paid for by the govt in that type of situation already?
