Has anybody noticed something?
Every time I turn on the news, it's Michael Jackson all the time-- 24/7. In the rare event that Iraq is mentioned, reporters smugly state that it's "a success story." I wonder how something could be a success when huge swaths of the country were unable to vote? Sounds a bit like our country with all of our disenfranchised voters and a docile press that refuses to call a spade a spade. . .

3. And Kuwait is all bombings, all the time
...but we aren't hearing JACK about that. The only JACK we're allowed to hear about is JACKSON. But shit, they have a jury pool now, they were counting on that going on for weeks. Now all they have to do is pick from the pool, and we're off to the races on that trial.

They'll be able to spin the SOTU for a day or two, but we need some dramatic Amber Alert, or a missing young woman who may have been killed by her husband, to fill in the cracks just a little bit.

5. KIA
You'll also notice that much more time is spent on the number of Iraqi killed everyday rather than on the number of US troops.

The biggest exception was the day that the Chinook type helicopter went down.

6. Peterson trial is over
We need an all-froth no-substance crime story to fill air time and avoid talking about any real issues.

7. Expect it to go on all summer ...
... and possibly later into the year. Yes, there will be a huge tendency to turn away from the IMPORTANT ISSUES to follow the Jax Circus.

The Repugs must be thrilled.

Ick.

8. I think there's probably
more people who want to hear about Michael Jackson, than Iraq or politics. There are news crews from 25 different countries covering the MJ trial and it's only jury selection!! We've got 6 -7 months more to go and it'll only get worse.

9. Let's confine our viewing to C-Span, and Olbermann as much as possible.
If we political junkies do not watch these lapdog corporate lackeys, they are in deep trouble.
