That bit about no further debate (on Friday)in the unanimous consent agreement looked like a no filibuster agreement. If so, Harry Reid needs to resign as minority leader. Talk is cheap. And if I were Karl Rove... after the Democratic Senators have ducked the first two Senate confirmation fights... when THAT VACANCY came up for the SCOTUS...

I'd find a Hispanic Judge just slightly to the right of center, with an absolutely unobjectionable record, and nominate him\her for the seat. And after the Democratic Senators have been check-mated for the umpteenth time, I'd dance around the White House naked laughing my ass off at the stupidity and spinelessness of the Dems, and I'd be handing out that 'Ole Chuck Colson Chestnut...

the question was if they had just then given up on the filibuster officially in the Senate record. By unanimous consent, debate on this matter will end on Friday, thus there will officially be no filibuster.
