Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 10:18 AM by Stephanie

Some people around here would like to hijack his teleprompter. What would you have him say?

US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) rehearsing his State of the Union address. Two weeks into his second term and buoyed by elections in Iraq (news - web sites), Bush will use his State of the Union speech to seek global support for that war-torn country and lay out a tightly budgeted domestic agenda.(AFP/White House-HO)

1. Oh to be able to get access to that prompter!
A la "Anchorman" (which BTW was hands down one of the worst movies ever)
I would change it to say....
F U America!

2. Almost sounds like an invitation...
... to hijack this thread: write Bush's SOTU speech. :P

I think we could all have fun with that.... :P

9. Hmm...
... maybe some can add to this. I sort of envision it as what Bush would say if he actually wrote the speech himself:

Geevnin', lazies and germs... {wait for applause}

T'nite, I wanna pra-aze 'murka. {wait for standing "o"}

Tha gradest na-shun in the whole gawddamn worl..., uh, yoony-verse!
{anticipate wild cheering}

Now, I beat that Frenchifried Kerry with a stick, din't I? Becuz I did, I got so much political capital in my pockets, my pants are about to fall down, and I'm gonna spend it all right here. {Congress cued to titter here}

We're gonna make 'murka even grader. We're gonna drive the libruls from the temple. We're gonna {wait for cheers} talk tuff to that ol' Europe. We're gonna make `em whine like whipped dogs, and when they think they've had enough, I'm gonna sic the twins on Paris. {DeLay cued to begin testifyin' an' talkin' in tongues}

We're gonna put a bug up the ass of that Axle of Evil. Gonna put the fear of a Crisshun god into all those brown folks. {Trent Lott to scream "Hallee-yool-yah" here}

Anyone else? :P

4. I would guess that
his seeking "global support" will fall on deaf ears. He didn't need it before, why should he get it now? This is one bottomless hellhole that the boy king has gotten us into, and it should be up to him to deal with it.

If all else fails...we have Poland.

13. Ideally vs. reality
I'd hope for bipartisanship, restoration of alliances, trying to solve domestic problems (healthcare, education, economy, etc), and not trying to be the world's cop. More likely is something about terror, how we need to keep fighting, and so on.

19. Good point
Mine was more that having Bush resign, but have Cheney move up would just mean more of the same, and wouldn't be much of a change.
