More backing Dean to lead Dems
(San Francisco Chronicle)
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/02/02/MNGFAB44371.DTLState Sen. Carole Migden said her vote for the next chair of the Democratic National Committee had weighed on her mind for weeks until Tuesday, when she endorsed former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.
Migden, the tough-talking Democrat from San Francisco, wants a party leader who will raise money and raise hell, "draw a crowd and pound the drum'' to get Democrats elected in 2008.
Migden's dilemma about the next choice to lead Democrats has been shared in recent weeks by the 447 voting members of the Democratic National Committee, who will make their formal decision Feb. 12 for the next national committee chairman.
Dean, the former presidential candidate, is the leading candidate after former Texas Rep. Martin Frost dropped out of the race Tuesday. The other candidates for the party post are Donnie Fowler, a consultant and former vice president of the Silicon Valley-based Technology Network; Simon Rosenberg, the head of the New Democrat Network; and former Indiana Rep. Tim Roemer. (More at link above)
So it's down to Fowler, Rosenberg, Roemer, and Dean. And I think that Donnie is self-destructing.
