Who are the yeas so far?
As far as I know, Salazar is the only Democrat voting for the guy. There have to be at least seven or we could probaby pull off a filibuster - assuming Chaffee and Jeffords are on our side.

1. Why do you assume Chaffee is on our side?

4. He has often voted with us when other Dems wouldn't
He seems to have more of a conscience than Bill Nelson and some of the other Democrats.

5. He's not going to be with us on this one
I think we can count on that. For the GOP, this is about loyalty. And if he weren't loyal GOP, he would have switched by now.

3. Except Leader Reid says no on the filibuster
Even if there are enough Senators to do it, if the Leader says no, then the answer is no.

6. Yep
I think all the Republicans are voting "yes."

7. There will be no filibuster.
And there shouldn't be one. It hurts the administration more to have Gonzales get in on a party-line vote, with Repubs in favor of torture. Which is why the Salazar thing hurts us a little.
