Poll question: Should Dems payoff preachers to support Dem politicians?
I'm surprised by the responses on another thread. So, assuming Republicans are paying off many of these preachers to support their RW agenda. Would you support Dems or associates paying off these preachers to support our candidates?

I think this is my definition of a realist vs. an idealist. I'll do whatever it takes to get a government where we can address global warming, world war, and energy issues.

1. Can I somehow vote for both "no" options?

Oh well... I'll just hit the church/state one.

If you pay for your politics your only constituents are dollars.

2. There are other ways and means to reach this audience
There are ways to "play the game."

We just need to learn to play it as well as the Repugs do.

3. If a church was caught politicking from the pulpit,

which is against the law for tax reasons, and receiving money in the form of bribes, that would be a huge story. A better strategy would be to frame prominent church leaders in urban areas who have ties to the churches in suburbia. It could feasibly take down the baptist and methodist clergy.

It's a totally unethical thing to do, either way, so I wouldn't take any part in it.

5. As a Christian myself, you should find out which congregations
are working with the "state" and then remove that congregation's tax-exempt status. As a Christian, I would applaud this. I'm a firm believer in separation of church and state, as our founders were.

7. You really don't need to.
Most preachers I know ARE liberal Dems. But I hang out with mainline Protestants and other fun people.

However, if you'd like to throw a few bucks my way...
I'll take whatever I can get!

8. How about HELL NO!
God is not the chief propagandist of either party (or something like that) I would have to throw up in my mouth, then start breaking things if the democratic party ever did that!
