1. It's sad

A few weeks ago, CBS News Tonight (John Roberts, not Dan) had a piece about the mothers of dead soldiers, one for the war, one against. The one against denounced Bush for lying about WMDs, and the one for the war said if it hadn't been for the invasion of Iraq, *she* would be wearing a burkha *now*.

I feel sorry for both women. But is it "easier" to think your son died to keep you from some paranoid delusion of yours -- i.e. al Qaeda forcing an Islamic theocracy upon the USA? That's even wackier than Reagan saying that Noriega was only a few hours drive away from Texas....

No sane soldier expects the Americans they are protecting to cease brain activity during "war". Only fascists.

my hat's off to him, but you kind of get the feeling that some of these guys don't care if they're defending our country, serving justice, conquering an country that never threatened us, or being doorman at the little bushturd's fraternity reunion beer bust. Wind me up, give me a gun and tell me where to go.
