Was Bush actually booed during the SOTU???
I read this somewhere just a few minutes ago. I didn't get a chance to watch it this evening. If so, I'm sure he did something to diserve it.

5. If he fixes SS.....
like he fixed IRAQ I do feel sorry for anyone younger than me.
I also fear for my own future.

13. I just turned 50 and I am pissed.
Not only are they talking about cutting our benefits but just yesterday I signed a petition to prevent them from privitizing our pensions as well.

Meanwhile the tax cuts for the top will be made permanent.

Bush will never be called a "traitor to his class" but it increasingly seems that fewer and fewer of them fight for us.

dark days ahead.

16. We need to keep hitting
the fact that the 'owners' of these 'private' accounts will NOT be allowed to decide how to invest that portion of the money that is supposed to be 'theirs'. I think if you could get the younger set to see that they won't be in control of the account, they'll be even more pissed than us older people who are facing a bleaker future than we had imagined.

25. I'm 53 and already retired
I'm counting on SS. My husband is 60 and SS is the only thing (other than my pension) that he has waiting for him.

I'm furious, frightened, and absolutely ballistic over this!!!

10. I heard a couple of minutes of Tweety this morning
in rerun, and he was commiserating with Scarborough about the utter rudeness of the Dems booing *--that this has never been done before. It was disgraceful.

My husband refused to watch * lie last night so we skipped the SOTU and went to bed early. I've been watching the rebroadcast on C-SPAN this a.m. and think it probably would be best to go back to bed. Its so much posturing and propagandizing by a party that knows it does not have a clear majority.

12. How convenient that I feel asleep promptly at 8.
But the BBC this morning aired the catcalls coming from the Democrats and showed a shifty-eyed Bush glancing over while Dick Durbin shook his head. BBC announced the Dems were glued to their seats while the Repugs were "up and down like yoyos".

Most likely the US news media has a different slant.

30. Not booed
When Bush started outlining his horseshit Social Security stuff by listing the "problems" with it, the Democrats started saying "No," which I'm sure the media will call booing.

I wish someone had stood up and yelled "BULLSHIT!!!!" THAT would be fucking hilarious.
