1. Hooray for Obama!
I am glad that he voted no. I was beginning to be very disappointed in him.

They will try to imply that he is a racist. Look for lots of stories about how blacks supposedly hate Hispanics.

Sigh.

3. There Are Tensions At Times Between All Kinds Of Different Groups
but if they imply Obama is a racist they will look more absurd than they already do...

2. Heard his speech
not bad...not bad at all....sort of threw down the guantlet for Gonzales to repudiate the memos and prove he is enforcing the administration's (stated) policy of zero tolerance for torture....

nice move...if this ever comes up again, Obama has the ace-in-the-hole!!!

5. His Rationale Was A Good One..
The pres is entitled to put all the bozos he wants in his Cabinet but the A G is the people's lawyer and must be held to a different standard...

I am very impressed with him... I hope to see him as president one day...

4. I'm on a roll... going to email him right now.
I've done more emailing to my reps in the last year than I've done in my whole life.

6. HOORAY (but he still shoulda voted NO on Condi)!
Did the right thing, but still has some missteps to correct.

Gotta e-mail his office to thank him for the right vote.

11. He's Still Wrong
If someone's not qualified for the gig, they're not qualified for the gig -- and Condi proved she's unqualified for the gig.

Obama should've had that be the rationale, IMHO.

But I respect your right to disagree. The votes have been taken. We move on from here.

More interesting would be the reaction of those who DEFENDED a vote FOR
Gonzo in the run-up to the debate today.

Some even went so far as to defend Gonzo himself in an attempt to pre-empt such criticism as you are mocking here.

9. If he wants a future he's doing the right thing
Not a great idea for a future leader to be identified with war crimes in any way at all. That would kill it.
