AARP will bend over on this like it did on medicare or whether it will actually fight for its membership.

2. Also, the real pain from borrowing money
is going to be faced a few years down the road as the amount of money slowly accumulating in privatized accounts has to be made up so that then-current retirees can be paid.

Bush has not talked about the mammoth transition costs involved in moving from a system in which today's workers pay the retirement benefits of today's retirees to a system in which today's workers pay for their own retirement.
