for those of you who never ran into this guy when he used to play in Central Park (right up until uber-fascist Rudy and snooty Central Park West re$$$idents chased him out!), his standard repertoire runs more toward classic pop. Here he strikes out in a whole new direction -- country. I was wondering where he was going with it until the full instrumentation kicked in at around 50 seconds. "I'm totally feelin' ya, Dawg!"

Y'know, that was one of those rare cases where The People beat City Hall. Yeah, they chased us out, but thousands of people rallied... contacting the media. And, two days later, the NY Times, ABC, and several radio stations had people at my apartment.

Eventually, the administrators in Central Park and I worked out a deal, and I've been making music there ever since. This summer, I'll be out there on Saturday afternoons instead of Sunday afternoons. (You can always check: http://www.thatguitarman.com

But, it's about drawing attention to the fact that our Founding Fathers built a secular government where ALL people were to be tolerated and all religions respected, as well as those who derive their Goodness from the common person and nature. Freedom of religion AND freedom FROM religion! It's to draw attention to the fact that it took over 200 years to put the tiger in the cage, and an inspired Constitution to keep it there... but, today the tiger is out of the cage.

Bush and his administration have swung the door wide open.

i meant, it is probably a pretty exciting time, with the speedy and distant distribution this song is getting and will be getting. i did not mean it as a jab at you or anything. i am a musician and i am very impressed with the sound and the message. i expected something a little more cheesey given the concept before it started playing, but i was really suprised. it's an all around great job. so, i was just imagining that it would be good news for you as more people will be exposed to it and the ideas/message behind it. i think it is ok to feel good about something concrete and meaninful being put together. you did a good job.
