2. Nice graphic...
but if it's yours, I really would recommend changing the font, especially on the lower text, it's practically unreadable...

I mean, I can't handle that kind of reality, man.

I see much more of that and it's back to livin' out of dumpsters for me!

4. Font Comment
Interesting that you mentioned the unreadable font, because I couldn't read it when I came across it, and then I read your comment. I agree: it's not readable. :) Just FYI.

6. Sure does seem that way, doesn't it?
That doesn't excuse his Gonzalez vote. His support for the War shouldn't translate into 'anything goes'. This guy has really changed over the years.....I wonder if his positions are in part to spite a Party that held him such low opinion in the primaries last year?

13.  I haven't met a single one who likes him.
Some used to say he was a nice guy, but they would never vote for him. Now no one respects him at all. At least in the rank and file. maybe some lingering Gore Lieberman respect, but none I have seen.

35. Yes, I do like him
I don't agree with everything he he does, but I have yet to find a politician I agree with 100% of the time.

Someone must like this guy, considering that he was elected to the CT State Senate three times (and served six years as Majority Leader), twice as CT Attorney General, and three times to the United States Senate. Sounds like a popular guy to me.

23. Wow! I am hardly the fringe left and I used to live in Conn.
and I don't think everyone thinks my way. That is why I asked you. But seriously , the man has been a traitor to his party and you can't tell me you are proud of what he did today. Or can you? And even most of the posts on DU are NOT supportive of Lieberman. And I meant what I said. Since the primary, I actually haven't met anyone who supports Leiberman. I was surprised at those numbers. Even during the primary , there was some support in my state among party officials, but they had several events for Leiberman and no one came. Well, one event that was supposed to have been a fund raiser for the Dems had ten people show up. Another time he gave a speech at our capital and six people showed. The rank and file never did seem to like him.

26. "I actually haven't met anyone who supports Lieberman"
That reminds me of the story about the lady who lived on the Upper East Side who remarked, after the 1972 election, "I can't believe Nixon won. Everyone I know voted for McGovern."

31. Neither did Bob Graham
Interest in Graham was so negligible he didn't even make it to the first primary. But just because nobody thought he'd make a good presidential candidate doesn't mean he couldn't have gotten reelected to the Senate if he had wanted to.

22. It's in his state
Connecticut...

snip>
In a Quinnipiac University poll released earlier this month, 73 percent of the registered Connecticut Republicans surveyed gave him a thumbs up -- a percentage point higher than the approval rating he got from Democrats, but within the margin of sampling error. Of all registered voters surveyed, just 15 percent said they disapproved of his work, and 12 percent didn't know or didn't answer.
............

73% from REPUBLICANS, 72% from dems.

Maybe the dems should run someone they like more than repubs? Just for giggles?

Lieberman was elected to represent the people of Connecticut, not the fringe left. If election returns are any indication, the people of Connecticut seem to like him just fine.

29. What Lieberman doesn't know is that when one of the Corteleones
kiss you it isn't necessarily affectionate. Bush would stab him in the back without blinking an eye. Ask McCain. I don't care who likes him or who doesn't. In the long run Joe is going to be on the wrong side of many of the issues where he has chosen to support Bush.
He must have his reasons. Perhaps his constituents are in agreement with his positions. I am not. I don't like him.

33. Sadly, he undermines Democratic strategy on votes like this.
But Joe gets plenty of TV exposure as the go to Democrat, for balance, on the issues....and that translates into votes at home. Joe seems to be pushing Israel's agenda in the Senate - he could as well be Joe Liberman (D - Tel Aviv). His priorities line up quite nicely with this administration's current foreign policy of being the designated lightening rod in the ME.

It really won't surprise me if he runs as a Democrat again, and then changes his stripes....Connecticutt Democrats will get shafted and we'll have lost the opportunity to replace him with a real Democrat. I hope he gets real competition this time in the primaries.

34. I think this is his revenge...
for his "3 way tie for third" in New Hampshire. He has decided to get back at Democrats by getting in bed (literally, apparently) with Bush.

(on a sidenote, I just reminded myself of a great Bob Graham comment about Bush... he said "he is LITERALLY in bed with the pharmaceutical companies..."
