Poll question: Poll: Non-Deaniacs and support for Dean as DNC chair
Just wondering, because it seems that several who were not Dean supporters in the primaries are now rooting for him for DNC Chair. So I'm conducting a bit of research to see if I'm right.

Please pick one.

2. Can you have both?
I suspect it's one or the other. He's Chair and working on that, or he's campaigning for prez, and working on that.

Doing one would short-change the other, I suspect.

To hell with Dean in 08. We need him NOW!

10. I'm not saying ethics
I'm saying each is a full time job. Either he is one, or he is the other. It's like campaigning to be prez and secretary of state.

Or like being coach and general manager. It don't work so good.

16. Dean already said if he became DNC Chair he wont run for Prez in 2008
I think that proves that he has the welfare of the Country and the Party ahead of his own personal ambitions.

I'm happy to see that this choice for DNC Chair seems to have overwhelming support. That is good news.

21. Or being in the senate and campaigning for president?!
Edited on Fri Feb-04-05 06:20 PM by lojasmo
With that point made, I think Dean should stick the whole term as DNC chair. Without him there, I fear we'll never win another election ever.

19. We need both. How's that clone machine coming along?
Shit, why can't he be President on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and DNC chair on Tuesdays and Thursdays?

3. I've had mixed feelings
I started out as a Dean supporter, got behind Kerry all the way, but I think the Dean would make a fantastic chairman.

I think as head of DNC would give the party the necessary push back to Democrat!

9. Definietly Betsy Ross!
I really like Dean and his fire and I think he could do a lot of good for the party. I think he could run for President in the future, but I think now that we need him to help the party get back on track. He could do a lot of good!

5. I think he knows the two big issues are media and BBV
and that everything else is just media trying to intimidate the Democratic party into changing their platform.

7. I was a dies in the wool Kerry supporter. I didn't trust the liberal
persona being assigned to Dean who was really a moderate. Dean was too cozy with IBM, didn't have a great environmental record, and had a lousy position on public defenders. That being said, I still liked his gutsy personality.I think he is telegenic and puts a great face on the party. I think he will be able to unite the left and the moderates. I like the man and think he is the very best possible choice we have for DNC Chair. His moderate background might even help with those who could be scared off by liberal perceptions!

8. I supported Kerry all the way to Nov. 2nd...
...and I forgave him all his foul-ups during the campaign, since I figured that was the timidity of his handlers coming through. The dang rub on tan and the hunting trip...what the hell was he thinking?

The Dean Scream hurt him, but he never backed away from it. That was integrity and grit, which Kerry unfortunately never showed me.

11. I wasn't a Dean fan in the Primaries
But I said then that he is more suited to be DNC Chair than President. He has my full support now.

18. I backed Kerry
but although I like Fowler, I'm also not displeased that Dean will get it as is now obvious.

Dean has the passion I think to attract new support to the Dems, the repubs ridicule is either misplaced or their fear being masked over a real fighter like Dean as Dem chairman methinks.

What the hell, at least with Dean you know it will be exciting!

23. Did not support Dean in primaries, but support him for DNC chair because..
...he is the best fit for the chair of all those who are or were in the running. Not that there weren't others I feel would be more qualified that didn't run...

25. Dean RAWKS! I supported Clark in the primaries, but
Dean is the perfect DNC chairman for these times. He would be better than anybody at lighting fires in the right places and kicking serious ass. I got a phone call from the DNC the other day asking for money, and I told them I wouldn't give them a nickel unless Dean is chosen as chairman.

26. I backed Kerry
But I think Dean is a perfect choice for DNC Chair. He has that ass kickin' attitude going, is a master at raising funds and can get this party going again from the ground up.

27. I originally was a Gephardt supporter
but got behind Kerry after the primaries got going. I was very disappointed when he came out Nov. 3 and decided that he was not going to challenge the vote. Now I wish that Dean had stayed at the top and been our candidate!!!
