STATE OF DANGER/STATE OF DEMOCRACY

So what’s the answer to a radical, unaccountable team in control of the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch and, indirectly, much of the media? If conservative officials repeatedly fabricate facts, progressive scholars must continue to tell the truth about them. So we at the New Democracy Project will launch two new projects to expose the threat to democracy and empower citizens to vindicate their rights.

First, in the Spring, we’ll begin a series of colloquia called “Losing our Democracy.” In today’s state of danger, we need a calm, clear and convincing exposition of how our democracy itself is under assault—an assault even more insidious because, of course, it’s being done in the name of freedom and democracy. Along with allied groups, NDP will focus on nine separate but intersecting anti-democratic trends: voter suppression, purchased politicians, denial of access to courts, the erosion of liberties (in the name of fighting terror), government secrecy, the docile press, as well as the growth of legislative tyranny, corporate tyranny and religious tyranny at home even as the president wants to extinguish tyranny abroad.

Second, NDP is researching and will be publishing Defend Yourself: Winning Your Rights in 10 Roles in Life. Instead of waiting for our government officials and agencies to give us the everyday justice we deserve, Defend Yourself will arm readers of DemocracyFirst with the tools and knowledge of how to vindicate their rights as employees, patients, shareholders, consumers of financial services, consumers of products, students, spouses, clients, taxpayers and citizens.

I had to stop reading for a moment. Elegant, simple truth! WHY DON'T PEOPLE SEE IT???? Don't know if I can take spring. Sick again to see it in print...We are doomed without a shot being fired. We truly do have an "ownership society," and it's not owned by us. Only the elite are "entitled" to anything. I am outraged to have to dauntingly fight against the machine forever. I have concluded that, I am in this world, and I am life, and it was life, love, that brought me here. so I am, so shall I'll reflect, what I am, Love, life, God, all the same to me. I was born with pain but not with fear, and this is how I choose to pass, pain yes but without fear. Remembering love, life, as my guide post on the journey fades, as I become as such, and fear no more.

"Ownership Society." Stealing from the weakest, they are...Orphans, disabled and elderly...top 55% country's wealth controlled by top 5%. Morsals falling off the plate into their purse. Slave labor at hand...all that's left on the plate!

I wouldn't doubt that Dean already has a hand in it....I sure hope it comes to something...this information at least has to be presented and circulated. It's pretty much in depth and comprehensive...it does show how really bad the STATE OF THE UNION really is...this is what a real President should have been reporting instead of a 2006 campaigne speech...
