Who was the Iraqi Woman in the balcony?
This is pretty disjointed because I had to shorten it so much, but I was wondering if anybody else had seen this and knows any more about it.

Who was the Iraqi Woman in the balcony? Updated info.

(From the diaries -- kos. This cursory investigation demands a deeper look into Ms. Sofia Taleb Al Souhail. Held up as a shining example of why we've spent $200 billion and wasted 1,500 lives and counting, it looks upon first glance that she doesn't live in Iraq, has been affiliated with right-wing organizations, her father was killed in Lebanon while planning a coup against Saddam, and her family claims the US was complicit in his assassination.)
I am always interested in finding out who the people are that are chosen to sit with in the "good seats" at the State of The Union.

Her name is Safia Taleb Al Souhail.

I did a search and found that she published an article in December of 2003 for the group "Foundation For the Defence of Democracies."

So, then I went to see who they are, being non-partisan and all. Board of Directors?
Steve Forbes.
Jack Kemp.
Jeanne Kirkpatrick.

Distinguished Advisors?
Newt Gingrich.
R. James Woolsey.

Board of Advisors?
Gary Bauer.
Charles Karuthammer, (yes the columnist)
Bill Kristol.
Zell Miller.
Richard Perle.

5. Sometimes I feel as if...
...I no longer have the power to be amazed by what the MSM does. But mostly, I'm totally outraged that they don't fucking even ASK QUESTIONS.

Of course, that's granting them the notion that they, too, are being fooled by the WH. I gotta stop that; they're PARTNERING with the WH on the despoiling of America.

and "wired in," to the Bushies....

It's not going anywhere. Americans don't care, media doesn't care..

It would be more important if the Soldiers Parents were found to have connections. I don't think anyone has followed up on them.

With Iraq, Americans think everything is corrupt there or owned by the Bush or it's all to keep America safe. No amount of horrible news about Iraq or Chalabi or the rest will wake the other half of America. :-(

8. Did she fly to Iraq and back for the SOTU?
I kind of doubt it, but you never know. The Bush administration just LOVES their PR stunts.
