Armstrong Williams!

Now, I personally hadn't heard of him before a couple weeks ago, but it looks like he has been somewhat popular for the last 8 years. Crazy.

1. I saw that late last year
There was a lot of good stuff.

He destroyed that mega-bookstore manager's excuses for not carrying his book more than any other case of excuse-destroying I've ever seen. By the time he ends up hanging out with Rick Nielsen (who supposedly was out of town, according to the manager), I was on the floor.

The way he toys with the 'handlers' that his publishers send with him on the tour is also very funny. Didn't he get one of them arrested or something?

2. Yeah, I loved the cheap trick scene as well, and
by the end of it I had a tiny bit more respect for Nike. Not quite as evil as some companies.

Still very very evil, but less than, say, the tobacco companies. I like that he agreed to meet with Michael.

3. maybe, but I got the distinct impression
That the Nike dude was either shit-faced drunk or on some sort of drugs during his encounter with Mike. I'm favoring drunk, simply because I've been known to knock back a few beers myself, and as they say, "it takes one to know one." The guy was either high on life, high on money, high on booze, or high on drugs, and given my life experience, I'm strongly favoring booze or drugs.

It was weird enough for the guy to agree to meet Mike, but his behavior and commentary during the interview was irreconcilable with the idea of "image-conscious, conservative CEO." He may have been honset, but in this day and age, that is evidence of my theory.

4. I think it could also be that he was on edge from the encounter with Moore
He seemingly wanted to put forth the idea that he did care, however didn't want to commit to anything, and Moore REALLY wanted a commitment to something.

Personally, I would look strung out on something if I had to debate Moore for a while :-)
