Saudi "elections": Interviewed the Royals and portrayed them as the champions for democracy fighting the Islamic radicals. BULLSHIT!

How anyone could imagine Dan or CBS as being "liberal" is beyond my understanding.

1. At this point Dan Rather is a done dude. His masters at CBS as much as

have a taser sticking in their backs, and instructions on what party line they'd better be spouting, Or Else.

2. It's not that he IS liberal; it's that it's convenient to portray him thus

The whole notion of "the liberal media" works like this: you make a claim that has almost no truth to it, then rail about it relentlessly. When the railing is implemented by the RW's Mighty Wurlitzer, it succeeds in intimidating the media, so that they learn to bend over backwards, so as not to appear "liberal."

This strategy is very effective, even though many rightwingers understand perfectly well that the original claim was always bogus.

The truth was never the story, not a bit. Nobody cares what Bush's guard record is in this golden age of propaganda. Smear or be smeared, that's what it's all about. The sheep just follow. WE are not sheep!
