Ben & Jerry's True Majority - free ice cream when you join their
progressive telephone service that donates to our, you, me, US.

"There’s a lot of stuff that we all end up having to buy from huge corporations that don’t share our values or are even working against us. Working Assets on the other hand is a small company that actively supports the values that TrueMajority is based on.

So I’m writing to encourage you to use Working Assets as your long distance telephone carrier. TrueMajority has never done anything like this before. And that’s because there’s never been a company like Working Assets before.

Working Assets is a long distance telephone carrier that has raised $46 million for progressive organizations. This last election, they made a huge effort to get people registered to vote and succeeded in registering over 1 million new voters. This progressive phone company led the nationwide Election Protection program whose 13,000 plus volunteers monitored the polls and prevented countless cases of voter intimidation. And Working Assets organized its customers for TrueMajority most recently on our campaigns such as The Computer Ate My Vote, relief efforts for the Sudan and federal budget priorities.

I have personally been using Working Assets Long Distance for the last 10 years. I can tell you that their rates are in line with the other guys and their service is great. So in one fell swoop, you can get great phone service at competitive prices, help support a progressive company, and help fund TrueMajority quickly and painlessly (they’ll be donating money to us for each new customer who signs up). They do all the work to switch you over. Everything stays pretty much the same with your phone, except now you’re supporting the good guys.

If you’d like to check out the deal from Working Assets, read on.

Sincerely,
<>
Ben

So here’s how Working Assets explains the deal:

We offer you a highly competitive rate plan. Switch today and you’ll enjoy our special introductory offer. You’ll pay just 2.9¢ a minute when you make calls to another state. When you make long distance calls within your state, you still pay just 5¢ per minute! All for just $5.95 per month.

After your first year, you’ll get our great low rate of 5¢ per minute when you call anywhere in the United States.* There’s no cost to signup or switch your carrier. And you get a coupon for free pint of Ben & Jerry's® Ice Cream every month for your first year, and even free phone calls to your congressmembers.

So we cost about the same as whomever you’re using now. But you get this other great stuff and support a business that supports progressive organizations across the country.

If this works for you, just click here or call 800/227-0298 to join Working Assets – the phone company that makes it easy to make a difference. Please tell the rep you are a member of TrueMajority and your priority code is IE-119-TMJ.

I look forward to welcoming you to Working Assets.

Michael Kieschnick

President, Working Assets

*With this offer, you’ll get domestic direct-dialed state-to-state calls for just 2.9¢ a minute for a full year. This rate will appear on your bill as 2.1¢-a-minute bill credit for a 5¢ call. The promotional 2.1¢-a-minute bill credit will terminate at the end of 365 days, and the rate will be 5¢ a minute thereafter. The rate for direct-dialed calls within your state is 5¢ a minute at all times. Offer expires 3/31/05.

2. This sounds wonderful! We need to use ProgDem companies
and this one sounds like a beaut. Let the other phone companies spend their millions on TV advertising -- this company offers REAL incentive to use their service.

Thanks!

3. I've used that phone service for about a year.
No complaints. The service and cost are as advertised.

5. I have used Working Assets Long Distance (WALD)
for about 4 years and I really like it. It is fairly competitive but I really joined because of the fact that it supports causes that I find important. They use recycled paper for their bills. But I save trees by having my bill emailed to me. I also picked the option of having my bill rounded up to the next whole dollar so that they have more money to contribute.

The 12 free months of B&J ice cream didn't hurt either.
