Margaret said the reason the pugs are so afraid of Dean is because (paraphasing) the contrast between the high energy articulate Deane and the pale, boring Melman will be vivid, and not to the pugs' advantage.

Yes, they are afraid. Dean energized a complete new group of Democrats who have been working on political issues every since he came on the scene. He's a former governor with a track record of balancing a budget and providing services in his state.

Against Dean is Ken Mehlman who won't state his sexuality (even though he's been outed many times), and, the religious reich can't be happy about that. Mehlman has talking points but no experience.

The Gang was talking about the Alberto Gonzalez nomination vote. Christopher Dodd's quote regarding Nuremberg - i.e., even the Nazi's were given a triel before sentencing - was mentioned. Kate O started babbling about Nazi's were from an organized government. If the Dems think that Al Quida should be protected from torture, the Dems are in for an awakening, or some shit. (Of course, thinking logically - which most Repubs can't - that assumes everyone in Abu Ghraib was a member of Al Quida.)

Not two minutes later she said something about no American would endorse torture.
