Straight from the Freepers:

you know... Gore was less noisy and took it quietly. This Kerry fella doesn't shut up... it is as if he was elected or something.

I found this through a link on Daily Kos and thought it was really funny.

3. Last time I checked
Kerry remains an elected senator from Massachusetts with a good deal of seniority and expertise on a wide range of issues.

Gore became a private citizen on January 20, 2001.

It's amazing the things I learn in graduate school.

I'm not trying to bash Gore
I think Gore did the right thing given his position after the '00 election. In no way am I bashing Gore.

I just found that Freeper quote really funny and I think it's more a compliment to Kerry than anything else.

6. That's what crossed my mind, too.
Kerry has done more in his sleep for this Country than Bush has done with all his waking manipulations.

How John Kerry exposed the Contra-cocaine scandal
Derided by the mainstream press and taking on Reagan at the height of his popularity, the freshman senator battled to reveal one of America's ugliest foreign policy secrets.

Oct. 25, 2004 | In December 1985, when Brian Barger and I wrote a groundbreaking story for the Associated Press about Nicaraguan Contra rebels smuggling cocaine into the United States, one U.S. senator put his political career on the line to follow up our disturbing findings. His name was John Kerry.

Yet, over the past year, even as Kerry's heroism as a young Navy officer in Vietnam has become a point of controversy, this act of political courage by a freshman senator has gone virtually unmentioned, even though -- or perhaps because -- it marked Kerry's first challenge to the Bush family.

In early 1986, the 42-year-old Massachusetts Democrat stood almost alone in the U.S. Senate demanding answers about the emerging evidence that CIA-backed Contras were filling their coffers by collaborating with drug traffickers then flooding U.S. borders with cocaine from South America.

7. Something in the wind
Has anyone here noticed that things have been a little funny lately, like GWB acting totally off the wall, the dems booing GWB during the SOTU and John Kerry not standing up for GWB at the SOTU, do you think something big is about to break!

9. you're right, and I like Gore...
Edited on Sun Feb-06-05 04:38 PM by BlueInRed
After the Supremes stole it, I wish Gore would have loudly and proudly stayed around and been a thorn in the side of Bush. But when the war came up, Gore did step up to the plate.

But in fairness, in 2000 Gore probably had no idea just how bad Bush would be or how much he would screw everything up. The stakes are so much higher now and it gives Kerry more justification for not shutting up, not to mention the fact he's still a Senator.

I don't usually agree with Tweety, but I do agree with his premise that Gore should have stayed on the stage and essentially been a shadow president, because that's exactly what Bush would have done.

I do give Kerry credit for hanging tough and staying relevant.
