Thank God - Cheney won't run in 2008
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Vice President Dick Cheney Sunday categorically ruled out a run for the White House in 2008, even if asked by the Republican president who recruited him back into government.

"I will say just as hard as I possibly know how to say ... 'If nominated, I will not run,' 'If elected, I will not serve,' or not only no, but 'Hell no,' " Cheney told "Fox News Sunday," making clear he intends to retire from politics at the end of his current term.

"... I've got my plans laid out. I'm going to serve this president for the next four years, and then I'm out of here."

1. At least he didn't say, " {Cheney} No."

God knows he could have on Fox News Sunday, and they'd have found a way to justify it.

"Vice President Cheney was trying to emphasize just how much he doesn't intend to run for President. Some people say that saying 'Fuck' on a Sunday morning news show is out of line, but he is the Vice President and that is the language he chose to use, and the First Amendment affords him that right. Why do liberals hate America?"

11. Yay for this news!
Ooo and he said a naughty word on the Fox news channel. Think of how many elderly who watch the show will freak out. LOL.

4. Jebbie's the next anointed Emperor
I keep telling you all that. That's why he keeps grandstanding to impress the party's religious wack job base. That's why he was sent for the photo op in Asia last month.

Anybody who tries to get in Jebbie's way will not last long.

5. Here's how the quote really should be

"... I've got my plans laid out. I'm going to serve AS president for the next four years, and then I'm out of here."

On a more serious note, I'm actually dissapointed. I really think that it would be better for us if the Republicans nominated Cheney instead of a more respectable person, like McCain.

7. It's going to be the Jebinator.
Ralph (Christian Coalition) Reed is planning a run for Lt. Governor in Georgia, and Roy (Ten Commandments) Moore is looking at the governor's mansion in Alabama. Assuming the run and win (and why wouldn't they), Florida will then be landlocked by evangelical regimes. Jebbie knows this. For the next selected emporer, it's all about the fundies.

McCain may not seek the nomination, but if he does, he will probably be steamrolled by his good buddies the Bushes once again. I think that chances are good that Jeb has already been coronated in the Bushie mind. The question is, can we nominate someone who can beat him?

In order to do that, we need to stop talking about people like Hillary immediately. Hillary will provoke this biggest Republican turnout in history. People who don't know how to spell "Jeb" will be dragged out to vote for him.

10. Honestly, I can't see Jeb running
First of all, he said that he won't run.

Second, seeing as how many Americans despise Bush, the Republicans would be foolish to nominate another Bush. Even most conservatives I know acknowledge that George Bush is not a good president. Jeb hasn't really done anything significant as governor, and he can't use his last name to be the nominee because his last name doesn't have a good reputation like "Kennedy."

17. George didn't do anything good in TX either. Look where he is now.
It would be foolish for the Bushes to go for a dynasty, but when you think about it, what have they done so far that hasn't been foolish?

Don't write Jeb out. I'm sure they'll find some reason for him to run. These guys have too much power now to give it up freely.

20. The name "Bush" wasn't despised in 1999 and pre-election 2000
It was obviously not a popular name, but it wasn't nearly as hated as it is now. Again, I'd love it if they nominated him. We could probably win more easily against Jeb than against McCain or Guiliani (spelling?).

It would be a gift to us, all wraped up nicely, from the republican party. Seriously, most repubs would not elect that fucker.

12. You think so?
That's what a lot of people said about Bush before he ran the first time. Yet there he is starting his second term.

I honestly can't see how anyone could possibly find Dick Cheney appealing as a candidate. He's a total creep, not to mention a racist, a brute thug and a criminal.

He makes me think of Danny Devito's Penguin in the "Batman Returns" movie, only even more rude and nasty.

19. that's the trouble when you lie...

people don't ever really want to believe you again.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice--all proven liars. Why should be believe them, ever again???

I don't care how forcefully Cheney says something: he's a proven liar, and his word is not to be believed.

21. They couldn't even steal enough votes to give it to Cheney
He'd be voted against at least 7 out of 10.

If he won, people would go crazy because they'd know it was stolen.

the only possible way he could run would be to stick a pole up his butt and shake it around a little every now and then. and no one wants to be the guy holding the pole.
